Last Thursday I braved the weather conditions and went shopping in Trowbridge.

Parking in Trowbridge
I always park in The Shires Shopping Centre car park, however as I pulled in to the car park, I realised that my venture out might be more difficult that I first thought.
Although the roads in and around Trowbridge were mainly snow and ice free, The Shires Shopping Centre car park was like an ice rink and really looked like it had not been salted at all. You will see from the pictures that the car park was basically a large ice rink and in places where the cars had been, were big piles of icy slush, making the conditions for driving incredibly difficult.
Not only was it a challenge to park the car trying to find a space between lines that were not visible, once I parked the car I then had to negotiate the slush walking to and from the ticket machine trying all the time top stay on my feet!
Each time I walked near someone I could hear them talking about the state of the car park.
Should the car parks not be gritted as well as the roads and pavements? Did anyone else experience the same in any other car parks in Trowbridge?
Comments
You would have thought that the carpark would have been one of the first places to be gritted, especially as parking in Trowbridge is so busy this close to Christmas.
