The police have had a busy few days in Trowbridge; they are appealing for witness to a mugging near Gloucester Road, an assault in a Trowbridge club,  and are also searching for the driver of a white Ford Ranger after it was in collision with two cars in Seymour Road during the afternoon of yesterday Sunday 5th December.

The Ford Ranger collided with  a red Vauxhall Corsa and a Vauxhall Agila were damaged outside the Co-op in Seymour Road and the driver left the scene. The police dog unit has been called in to help track him down. The driver of the Corsa was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath with neck injuries.

The mugging took place on 26th November near Gloucester Road; a middle-aged woman was accosted by a young white man, over six feet tall and wearing a hoodie. They struggled as he tried to snatch her bag but amazingly the victim managed to hold on to it and the mugger ran away. Call DC Nicola Caffrey of the Priority Crime Team in Melksham on 01225 794739 if you have any information.

And finally, on Bonfire Night a 22-year-old man was attacked in Fever nightclub in Trowbridge by two men and left with a split lip. Both suspects are black, one around 5ft 6ins tall man, of medium build and about 19 years old. The second was about 6ft 1ins, of thick set build and about 16 years old. If you have any information, please call Kelly Higginbottom at Melksham Police Station on 0845 408 7000 ext 728522.

It seems to always be worse around Christmas when people are out at their Christmas parties and have a few too many.

I think it’s pretty similar to Melksham; it all gets a bit riotous and then something blows and everything goes stupid!

It's scary to think how much is going on in Trowbridge. I was out in the centre on Saturday night and came out of the pub and there were two guys pinned down with the police arriving on the scene.
