A good crowd was out tonight for the switching on of the Christmas Lights. Fore Street looked full and I had to nip round Red Hat Lane to get a front-on view of the stage. Lovely to see the school choirs taking part - well done Rhianna from Longmeadow for your solo - and Trevor Heeks was on good form as compere and cheer-raiser. Welcome to Neil Taylor and his stepson Johnny Ray, who switched on the lights to a countdown from Trevor and a big cheer from the crowd. A great light display to light us all up during the short winyter days and long evenings, and to bring some good cheer to the centre of the town.
