Traffic is what it is love it or really hate it, we all have to put up with the noise and the smell. But one thing that really bugs me is cyclists who seem to think that it's alright to ride on the pavement. I had a little set to a few days ago coming up Roundstone street. There I was struggling along with too much shopping from asda, when there was a annoying tinkle of a bell behind me. Now I stopped as any normal person would to see what all the noise was. I thought at first it was some poor soul who has to use one of those wheeled buggies, but no it was a chap of about my age, a rough 50 or so. I looked at him and he looked at me holding himself steady on one leg while astride his not so cheap bicycle. We met eye to eye, mine say what? his saying get out the way !. I then voiced,"what do you want" ? he replied "can I get pass "?. To which I said "sure mate there's the road" He gave me a frosty stare and moved onto the road mumbling under his breath. My point is that it is illegal to ride on the pavement and you can get a fine from £50 to £80 fixed penalty. And as a older chap he really should be showing the youngsters the right way to cycle. I know the police should be in forcing this law, but frankly they have bigger things to cope with. But we as citizens should I feel make our stand. We will not move meekly to the side when some oaf rings his/her bell !. Stand your ground and make them go around you and back to the road, after all the pathways are for walking not cycling.
