Wiltshire Council's Department of Transport have announced their bid for £4 million to go towards improving train services and stations across the county.

The funding will aim to create regular services from Westbury to Swindon and scheduling bus services with train times.

It will also help fund general improvements at other stations including Trowbridge.

Wiltshire Council has said that they hope this will help people's commute to Swindon and decrease the number of cars on the road.

Negotiations for a more regular train service between Westbury and Swindon will begin shortly and the council hope to schedule a more regular service on the TransWilts line next year.
