Trowbridge Police are asking people to be extra careful on the streets of the town after three women had their bags stolen in different areas.

With Christmas coming ever so closer, the last thing on anyone's mind is thieves roaming around Trowbridge waiting to pick on their next victim.

Sadly, police have reported that at the end of November, three women were targeting and their bags were stolen.

The first victim was targeted November 28 around 7pm down an alleyway near Seymour Road. She was pushed from behind and the thief stole her bag.

The second victim was targeting shortly after on the same night when she walked up Mortimer Street near Newtown. Both her shopping bag and handbag was stolen after a man approached her from behind and when she turned around, he took both bags from her shoulder and ran towards the Longfield Estate.

The third victim had their bag stolen two days after on November 30 along Pitman Avenue. The woman was turning onto Frome Road when she felt her bag being grabbed. She tried to fight off the thief but was pulled to the ground and they ran off with her bag.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The police would like to know about a man who is described by all three victims as white, skinny, between 5'10 and 6'2 and wearing dark clothing.

Trowbridge Police would like to remind people to be extra careful on the streets especially at night.

If anyone has any information they can provide information by contacting the Wiltshire Priority Crime Unit on the new number 101.
