As the temperature is gradually dropping, roads and pavements are becoming icy, making getting to work a little more challenging.

It's hard enough waking up early morning when it is still dark outside, but ice is now appearing causing slippery conditions and slow moving traffic.
Trowbridge will see low temperatures between 0 and -2 degrees in the run up to Christmas.
Wiltshire is prepared with roads already being gritted.
Getting to Work Safely
Ice can cause road accidents so please take extra care when driving or walking to work. Below are some obvious but helpful reminders to keep you and others safe:
• De-ice your car. Start your engine about 5 minutes before you drive off and scrape any excess ice from mirrors and windscreen.
• Grit your own drive way. My driveway is slightly slanted so reversing out is a lot more challenging. You can grit your driveway using grains of sand.
• Avoid country roads. Traffic is going to build up but it's best to just be patient. Country roads will not be gritted as the Lorries are too large to drive down them.
• Take extra footwear. If you walk to work, take an extra pair of shoes for the journey. It may look unflattering but good gripping soles on your shoes will stop you from slipping.
Please drive safely this Christmas Trowbridge!
