Trowbridge Homeless Men Receive ASBOs

Two homeless men have received ASBOs after causing disturbances of the peace in Trowbridge. 

The two men which are polish, have been witnessed being involved in drunken assaults have also been banned from Trowbridge Park. 

During a court hearing at North Wiltshire Magistrates Court in Chippenham, it was heard how the two men assaulted an elderly man, attempted to shoplift alcohol in local supermarkets, and vomiting and urinating in front of young families. 

As a result of their actions, the men are banned from Trowbridge Park and the ASBO will be in place for three years. If the ASBO conditions set out by the court are disobeyed, the men will serve up to five years in prison. They will also receive help from support workers to help with their alcohol addiction. 

The support scheme will help them to overcome their addiction as well as help them find work which according to Wiltshire Council has been successful in the past in other cases.

    STORY ADD ON...One of the men has breached his ASBO conditions after being seen drinking alcohol on the streets of Trowbridge. He will now go back to court for a hearing.

    The two men were told at the North Wiltshire Magistrates, Chippenham that if they breach their ASBO conditions, they could face up to five years in prison.
