Thieves Steal Thousands from Trowbridge Supermarket

Thieves have stolen around £20,000 from a supermarket in Trowbridge yesterday.

Tesco Extra had money stolen while the cash was being loaded into a security van at around 5pm.

Shortly after the incident, police surrounded the area.

The thieves were driving a Silver VW Jetta which has no licence plate and was found abandoned by Biss Meadows Country Park.

Two men approached the security van and snatched a bag which contained the money, got into the car and drove off before abandoning it. 

Police are investigating the crime and are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

No one was injured in the attack.
