Shock as Trowbridge Business is Unexpectedly Closed

Shoppers were stunned to see a fruit and vegetable shop has closed without much of an explanation.

S.K Fruits has been a longstanding business for many years in Trowbridge.
S.K Fruits which is based in The Shires Shopping Centre had its green shutters pulled down shut with notices around it yesterday.
Many customers were gathered around the grocers reading the notices that seemed to have appeared over night.
The notices state that under court ruling no persons is allowed entry to the shop and anyone trying to enter would be prosecuted.
Another notice which was written by S.K Fruits apologised for the random closure and that they are currently looking for another location in the town.
There have been a few reports of reasons why they have closed but none from sources that can be reliable.
Over the last few weeks, Trowbridge has seen many businesses close such as the Early Learning Centre and Gift Tastic with Peacocks and Dorothy Perkins due to close.

I do kind of hope that it does find a new home because it was fresh fruit and veg and most of it was local produce. Px

ReportI think it could be something temporary but they've not stated exactly what it is. It doesn't look very good for a business suddenly closing like that though! Naomi.

ReportEvery time I have been to Trowbridge and walked through the Shires, this place was always pretty packed, much like the butchers (next door?). If the signs say they are looking for another premises then maybe it is a short-term problem, or a tenancy related issue, rather than the business going bust. Trowbridge folk should take heart that an independent fruit and veg shop opened up in the Three Horsehoes Walk in Warminster 5 months ago and is doing pretty well - so there is still a market, it would seem, for the "good old grocer".

ReportWhat's so shocking about it is that there was no warning it was going to close and I know that shop has been there before I was even born and i'm 22! It really is horrible seeing Trowbridge with empty shops :( Naomi.
