A shop which has been in The Shires Shopping Centre for many years has closed.

The Early Learning Centre has closed its doors after serving the Trowbridge public for many years and was one of the longest standing businesses in the town.

The shop, which is a national chain, looks bare without the colourful toys and now replaced by an empty space in The Shires waiting for another business to open the shutters again.

It may not have been an independent business, but The Early Learning Centre has given some happy memories to children and adults who remember it when they were younger.

My Memory

When I was younger, the shop welcomed children in to play with the toys and on the monkey bars.

Before health and safety went to the extreme, I remember playing on the monkey bars and seeing my mum walk out of the shop.

In panic, I jumped down and hit my milk teeth on the bars. Needless to say, it was the place where I lost my baby teeth but still had a great time.
