Fore Street in Trowbridge town centre was closed off for the annual pancake race this morning.

Many people registered themselves for this year's event including police officers and pupils from Larkrise School.

The Trowbridge Lions Club hosted the event which saw shoppers stop to cheer on the competitors.

This year there was a category for men, women and a relay race for a chance to win a trophy. Many businesses including Asda, took the time off work to compete in the competition.

Each competitor was given a fake pancake and a frying pan to race with and had to flip the pancake at three different locations on the race course. The first, second and third places were awarded prizes.

Competitors who didn't get placed were given a certificate as recognition of their efforts.

The Civic Centre's caterers were also making pancakes for people with a selection of delicious treats.

Town Crier Trevor Heakes presented each race.
