Bishop dashes back to race in the world trials

David Bishop has flown back from his base in New Mexico, America, to compete in the Aviva World trials and UK Indoor Championships in Sheffield this weekend.
The Chippenham middle distance runner landed in Heathrow on Thursday lunchtime and will hopefully have shaken off jet-lag to take his place in today's heats.
The 24-year-old set a personal best of 4mins 00.10secs for the mile in America at the end of last month – equivalent to around 3mins 42/43secs for 1500m – and also clocked 8:07.65 for 3000m. If he can find the form that saw him post a PB of 3:41.12 last summer he could be a surprise package.
Joining Bishop in the heats of the 1500m will be Bristol & West AC team-mates Steve Mitchell and Mike Wilsmore. Cheltenham runner James Brewer stands the best chance of making the team – as long as he stays on his feet.
Racing in the New Balance Games in Boston last weekend Brewer was involved in a big collision in the opening stages of his mile race that saw British team-mate and World 5000m champion Mo Farah hit the deck.
"Unfortunately I was partly to blame for Mo getting tripped up as I clipped his leg when the pace slowed and we all bunched up," said Brewer. "It wasn't my finest moment."
Having hurdled the falling bodies Brewer found himself in the lead and with the adrenalin surging and the packed crowd roaring he pushed the pace too hard.
"I just wasn't focusing on the race and my head went," added Brewer, who dropped out with three laps remaining.
Other West athletes in Sheffield include Trowbridge's Danny Talbot, Bristol & West AC sprinter Emily Diamond (400m), Wiltshire's Elaine O'Neill (60m) and Stroud junior Tom Purnell (3000m).
The event is live on Channel 4 tomorrow, 2pm- 3.55pm.
No entries will be taken on the day for the Dirty Dozen 12 miles multi terrain race organised by Dursley & District AC tomorrow. There is still room in the Wiltshire 10 miles road race tomorrow.
