Trowbridge residents were left angered after councillors reject the Bowyer's site to be developed into a leisure complex.

Bowyer's site planning permission has been rejected after councillors voted against it.
The council meeting for the site which was held last night at the Bradley Road council offices discussed the legal and safety issues regarding the proposed plans.
Councillors voted against the plan seven to three with concerns over Stallard Street's busy traffic.
The plans for a cinema, six restaurants and a supermarket were originally approved a few weeks ago after councillors voted in favour. However, due to the safety issues councillors decided the development should not go ahead.
A negative response for the site development was also received by Asda and Legal & General who are planning to open a cinema and hotel in St Stephen's Place.
The old Tescos which is now called St Stephen's Place has been given building permission.
Prorsus, the organisation who wanted to develop the Bowyer's site will be able to appeal against the vote by councillors within a few weeks.

It is such a blow to Trowbridge but lets hope St Stephen's Place happens. Right now i'll only believe it until I see it. Still looking like a lot of rubble to me. Px
